June has been working for Integra, a Living Wage Employer for 3 years.

Before joining Integra, June was earning just above the minimum wage. It was not enough money to give her the financial freedom that she needed. This is her story.

Spotlight: Capilano Students' Union

Christopher Girodat is Executive Director of the Capilano Students’ Union. He helped oversee them becoming a Living Wage Employer in 2017 and is also a member of the Living Wage for Families Campaign’s Employer Advisory Subcommittee. Brightside is one of Vancouver’s longest-standing non-profit housing societies, with nearly 70 years of experience providing affordable housing to seniors, families, and people with disabilities. Committed to providing safe and secure homes for those that may otherwise struggle to meet the demands of market housing, they are working towards a future where people of all income levels live within a vibrant and healthy community.

Spotlight: Greater Victoria Police Victim Services

GVPVS have been a Living Wage Employer since 2017. They work in close partnership with, and provide victim services, on behalf of the seven police agencies in the Greater Victoria area. Their staff assist and provide emotional and practical crisis support plus ongoing support services to victims of crime and trauma including family members and witnesses. Their team of 14 highly trained staff carries out the society’s daily operations, including program administration, client services and volunteer support and coordination.

New Living Wage Employers in BC

We have certified 12 more Living Wage Employers from across British Columbia. More than 200 BC employers have now been certified as Living Wage Employers, representing over 26,000 staff and contractors who are earning a decent wage in their communities.
