March 2026 New Living Wage Employers

We’re thrilled to announce the certification of 6 new Living Wage Employers across BC!

Now, direct employees and countless contracted workers of these employers can rest easier, knowing their paychecks will cover the essentials—like rent and groceries—thanks to their employers’ commitment to the Living Wage standard.

The Living Wage movement is reaching more communities and industries

This month, we welcomed a diverse range of organizations as Living Wage Employers. Whether it is community foundations that uplift communities, such as the Salt Spring Island Foundation, chambers of commerce such as the Fernie Chamber of Commerce, and an arboriculturer, Grow Tree Care, these leaders are setting the bar for fair compensation in their sectors.

We are proud to celebrate these organizations for stepping up and ensuring their teams earn a wage that reflects the true cost of living. Their example is paving the way for a stronger, more equitable workforce in BC. We encourage more employers to join this growing movement and make a meaningful difference for their employees and their families.

“Grow Tree Care grew from the belief that both trees and people naturally do better when treated with respect and caring. Ensuring that our employees have a living wage so they can thrive in our community is an important part of values: to care for our people and the environment we live in.” Alison Wurts, Grow Tree Care

“The Salt Spring Island Foundation is proud to be a Living Wage employer and help contribute to equitable employment opportunities within the Salt Spring community.” Mary Kastle, Communications & Marketing Manager, Salt Spring Island Foundation

“As a Living Wage Employer, the Fernie Chamber of Commerce is committed to ensuring our team earns a wage that reflects the real cost of living in our community. It means leading by example in strengthening the local economy and aligning our practices with our vision of being a vibrant business support organization recognized for its valuable contribution to the local economy and the wider community.”  Wendy McDougall, Executive Director, Fernie Chamber of Commerce
