May 2026 New Living Wage Employers

May 2026 New Living Wage Employers

We have certified 5 New Living Wage Employers across BC!

With their employers’ commitment to providing a Living Wage, direct employees and numerous contracted workers can experience greater financial security. The assurance that basic needs can now be met alleviates significant stress, and takes a step towards addressing affordability for workers.

Growth in Numbers and Sectors

This month we have certified Living Wage Employers in different sectors and communities. From local businesses like Kelowna Brow & Co in Kelowna, to organizations in the arts and culture industry like the Vancouver Out on Screen Film & Video Society.

We are proud to celebrate these organizations for stepping up and ensuring their teams earn a wage that reflects the true cost of living. Their example is paving the way for a stronger, more equitable workforce in BC. We encourage more employers to join this growing movement and make a meaningful difference for their employees and their families.

Our organizational values center equity, anti-oppression, accountability, and sustainability. Being a Living Wage Employer ensures our organization remains accountable to these practices and values.” Piper Fawkes, The Vancouver Out On Screen Film & Video Society

At Avalon, we seek to ensure a equitable, fair and human-centered work experience for all employees. Being a Living Wage Employer means that we are held accountable to maintain a minimum standard for all staff. Avalon is proud to say we don't only meet, but generally, exceed the requirements to be a Living wage Employer. Our hope is to be able to join a class of certificates that stands for the same values we at Avalon uphold daily.” Emma Andrist, Avalon Mechanical Consultants

I value owning a business that prioritizes having a desirable work space that my staff want to stay at long term. Our team is made up of younger women that require a living wage to be able to comfortably live in Kelowna as it is an expensive city. I have always focused on paying above industry standard and giving regular raises, as well as paying for extended education, parking and food for the team.”  Felicia Adair, Kelowna Brow & Co
